Tom Bauer

Tom is a junior researcher in eco-design. His research activities focus on an emerging end-of-life strategy: repurposing, an industrial process by which end-of-life products are reused in different applications, in order to maintain their added-value. He investigates three areas related to the design of repurposed products: (1) the classification and clarification of their characteristics; (2) the evolution of the design process to integrate several recommendations; and (3) the realisation of life cycle assessments.
In parallel, part of his activities is dedicated to teaching mechanics, eco-design, lifecycle assessment and end-of-life strategies and regulations.
